Prodigi is GMV’s state-of-the-art suite designed for Payload Data Ground Segments (PDGS) used by satellite operators and data service providers. It offers a comprehensive, modular, and multi-mission platform that seamlessly adapts to any Earth Observation mission. Built on the latest technologies, Prodigi ensures ease of use, efficient configuration, and smooth operation, integrating any processing algorithm while optimizing resource management with maximum flexibility to adapt to different missions. From data ingestion, processing, and archiving to cataloging and commercialization, Prodigi enables systematic or on-demand EO product generation with ease.

MESEO’s data processing is structured into three key levels:

  • On-board processing, where sensor-specific computations take place.
  • On-ground processing in the MESEO federated PDGS centers, generating higher-level products (typically L1D).
  • Fusion processing at the central MESEO site, aggregating PDGS and external data sources to create added-value products according to users’ requests.

Prodigi provides two core components for MESEO:

  • Customer Services, a central portal enabling customers to request and access available MESEO services.
  • Processing Platform, deployed across the central MESEO site and federated PDGS centers, integrating diverse processors to generate mission-specific outputs.

To achieve MESEO’s objective of an optimized, large-scale Earth Observation data processing solution, a distributed approach is key – processing data close to its source. Prodigi enables this with a federated PDGS architecture, leveraging a Function-as-a-Service model based on OGC standards.

At the central site, user requests for MESEO services (such as methane detection and crop classification) trigger automated data retrieval from federated PDGS centers. Whether utilizing existing satellite data or generating new observations, these centers supply the necessary inputs for further refinement at the central site – delivering high-value products directly to users.

With Prodigi, MESEO is revolutionizing large-scale Earth Observation data processing, ensuring efficiency and flexibility.
