MESEO Project in the spotlight at the EU-funded R&I for EO Workshop

On February 21, 2025, the Workshop on EU-funded R&I for Earth Observation Technologies will take place at the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) headquarters in Brussels. This key event will showcase the latest innovations in Earth Observation (EO) research and development. Among the featured projects, MESEO (Multi-mission Efficient and Secure High Capacity End-to-End EO) stands out, with GMV, one of its partners, presenting it during the Ground Segment Technologies session.

MESEO’s role in the European EO landscape

MESEO aims to develop an advanced distributed architecture for the efficient and secure management of EO data, enabling multi-mission integration while ensuring high end-to-end capacity. Its significance lies in enhancing interoperability and security in Earth Observation operations, facilitating seamless data access for institutional and commercial users. Notably, MESEO is addressing key technological improvements in both the ground segment and on-board data processing, positioning itself as a bridge between these two essential components. By advancing capabilities in both areas, MESEO contributes to more efficient data management and smoother data flow across the entire EO system.

MESEO at the core of the ‘Ground Segment Technologies’ session

MESEO will be presented at 14:00 during the Technical Session #3: Ground Segment Technologies, moderated by Iulia Simion (HaDEA). This session will focus on innovative solutions for the ground segment, a crucial component in EO missions. GMV’s presentation will highlight how MESEO tackles the challenges of EO data management through a secure, scalable, and multi-mission approach, while also emphasizing its role in improving on-board data processing technologies.

The session will also feature two related projects: Domino-E, dedicated to multi-mission federation, and LEONSEGS, focusing on the ground segment ecosystem for the new space industry.

A key event for advancing EO Research and Collaboration

This workshop provides a unique opportunity to explore advancements in European EO research and foster new collaborations among institutions, industry, and the scientific community. Organised by the European Commission through DG DEFIS and HaDEA, the event is part of the Horizon Europe programme.
