MESEO has reached an important milestone in its exploitation journey with the publication of its first Key Exploitable Result (KER), the MESEO EO Coordination Centre for Distributed Earth Observation Processing, on the newly launched EU Innovation Platform.

This achievement marks a significant step towards increasing the visibility of MESEO’s innovations, fostering collaboration with potential end-users and stakeholders, and paving the way for the future uptake and commercialisation of the project’s results.

Introducing the EU Innovation Platform

Launched by the European Commission in June 2026, the EU Innovation Platform is a digital gateway designed to help researchers, innovators, start-ups and businesses turn research results into market-ready solutions.

By bringing together EU innovation support services, funding opportunities, networking activities and market deployment resources in one centralised space, the platform aims to bridge the gap between research and market application and strengthen Europe’s innovation ecosystem.

The MESEO EO Coordination Centre for Distributed Earth Observation Processing is an innovative solution designed to make satellite data processing faster, more efficient and better coordinated.

Rather than relying on a single centralised system, it enables processing resources both in space and on the ground to work together as part of an interconnected network. By coordinating the distribution of data and processing tasks across these resources, the solution aims to reduce delays, optimise computing capacity and accelerate access to Earth Observation information.

This approach has the potential to support a wide range of applications, from environmental monitoring and climate research to disaster management, where timely access to satellite data is essential.
